Egocentric
|
|
|
I spent yesterday's afternoon taking pictures in some country-ish zones around the city, but they're not ready yet... one of the disadvantages of not having a digital camera, but I still prefer the 'standard' ones. Though with digital cameras you can always delete and take a better shot, I still like to find out how bad they turned out to be... I guess they make the photos more personal and natural or whatever. So, since they're not ready yet, I decided to be a bit egocentric and update some of my drawings. They're really old, and some of them are really low-quality, I haven't done anything for quite a while now. They're mostly anime stuff, which was what I drew most... I was never good at drawing things like... that came from myself. There are some portraits in there too, Shirley turned out to look pretty good, Conor looks a bit artificial (he was the first one I did) and then there's the inevitable 0) It doesn't look like him or anything but you'll get an idea. I guess.

Some behind the scenes pics I found, rather upload them here than flood the whole forum. 0)

I think I'll make around three updates today. I don't want to mix up pics that have nothing to do with each other, and tonight I might have all REM pictures.
So, these ones are from Salzburg. I was going through the album to find recent pictures of me to send, the guys who're putting up this year's senior prom were asking for pics of us when we were kids and "grown ups". I have no idea why, though, if it's to show our progression it's a bit of a stupid idea. Anyway, I found some I took in a cemetery in Salzburg, the one they say they shot some scenes of The Sound of Music at. Though I doubt it. They may have inspired themselves on this cemetery, but the scenes weren't shot here for sure. I've watched that movie way too many times and it's set on the inside of a church with paved ground. This isn't paved ground. Anyway, here they are. I thought it was beautiful, nontheless.
And I just found out I can only make one update per day
The others were taken last night during dinner. I had nothing to do so I decided to play around with my cell phone. The one with the ice is the inside of a "sangria" jar. Then I discovered this Logitech Program that had different skins for pics, including a mirror effect option. The fork and Francisca's hair were taken with that skin.
REM pictures now available. Pictures taken by Francisca Ferreira.

new hair #2

In a fit of vanity.
There's new hair. It's basically the same colour only darker, it washes off though. Next time I'll risk it and paint it black. Maybe it won't look good since I'm really pale (as one of the pics will confirm), but it's worth trying. The other one is rather old, I was making some experiments with the cell phone and that's what came out of it. 0)

There's some more London pics, taken around July or so. Yeah, I guess it was July. The rest of them aren't much to look at since it's from little obsessions I have here and there, like taking pictures of Bram Stoker's name on the Lyceum Theatre wall, or taking pictures of the name of a rose in some garden, just because it was Pretty Polly and reminded me of PJ Harvey (and now it reminds me of A Clockwork Orange too...'if you want pretty polly, you take it!') and houses, of course. Lots of film wasted on houses. Maybe I'll post some of them up later, I don't know.

So, I don't know what got into me to put the pics online, but you know, some things just happen. And I don't know why I'm writing this in English, I guess just for the sake of it... so it seems I'll be giving Brit the link.
The first four ones (I don't know if I'll have time to put more up today) are from the film I developed today. The shop jerk did a horrible job with them, some were too distorted (and it wasn't a pic problem, it was just the quality of the development) and there were a couple of green ones. Green. But it's okay, since I have the habit of editing them and put them black and white.
So the first ones are pics of Lisbon, taken from Santa Luzia, near the castle, on a memorable day with two friends of mine. We have to go back up there again, we might as well take advantage that it's Winter... that day was just too hot. The other two are self-explanatory. I seem to have a weird obsession with the Houses of Parliament. I just can't get my eyes off of the entire building.
Ending the rather pointless text (this will be pretty much the only one since the pics have titles, unless I think they need some extra discriptions), enjoy them. They aren't anything beautiful, they're too normal, but I quite enjoy taking them. So bear with it.
